October 30-31, 2006
Hilton Hotel, Fort Collins
The study of Zoonotic disease is nothing new. Its importance, however, continues to grow by leaps and bounds, fueled by several funding announcements. Along with that, the number of research programs in Zoonotic disease in Colorado and Wyoming has increased significantly in the past year. So it's not surprising that the Northern Colorado region is at the center of it all.
Research, collaboration and new technology all aid in finding answers to Zoonotic disease mechanisms, targets and eventually vaccines, diagnostics and therapeutics. Thats the goal of Colorado State Universitys Zoonotic Disease Research Colloquium: to build upon these investigator-initiated collaborations in a single forum. This colloquium is designed to:
- provide an overview of the myriad of Zoonotic disease research activities ongoing along the Northern Front Range;
- stimulate discussion among investigators; and
- help foster new collaborations and the partnering of research disciplines or integration of new technology.
The program will cover a wide range of research areas. The colloquium is designed to benefit investigators with research activities that could be applied to Zoonotic disease but have not received Zoonotic disease funding in the past, as well as researchers with established Zoonotic disease programs. Individuals at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies interested in learning more about research activities in Zoonotic disease should plan to attend.
The Zoonotic Diseases Research Colloquium is hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Research and Information Technology and the Colorado State University Research Foundation.
